Getting started

How do I create my first story?
Open Glimmo, add a child profile with a first name, birth year, and a few interests, then tap Create a story. Pick a theme and a value to explore, and Glimmo writes, illustrates, and narrates a fresh tale in under a minute. Your child reads along and makes the choices that shape it.
What are interactive choices?
Each chapter has two gentle decision points. Your child picks what happens next, and the story remembers — the choices carry consequences that quietly teach the value you chose. It’s calm by design: a couple of decisions per chapter, never a quiz on every page.
Can I continue a story the next night?
Yes. A story is a series of chapters. When your child finishes one, tap Continue the story to pick up where you left off with the same hero and world — a growing, ongoing adventure rather than a one-off.
What ages and reading levels is it for?
Glimmo tunes vocabulary and sentence length to your child’s age and reading level, so the same app grows with an early listener and a confident independent reader alike.
What languages are supported?
Stories can be generated and narrated in 15 languages. The story language defaults to your device’s language and can be changed for any story you create.

Account & billing

How do credits work?
Each chapter you create spends credits based on what it includes — text, narration audio, and illustrations. A full illustrated, narrated chapter costs the most; a text-only chapter costs the least. You’ll see the exact cost before you create, and re-reading a story you’ve already made is always free.
What's included in the free plan?
New families get a one-time pool of free credits to try Glimmo — enough to create and enjoy several stories. You can also browse and read our free Explore library of ready-made tales at no cost.
How do I subscribe, and how am I billed?
Premium is a subscription managed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Each billing period refills your credit pool so you can keep making new chapters. Pricing is shown clearly in the app before you confirm — no hidden charges.
How do I cancel?
One tap, no phone calls. Manage or cancel your subscription anytime from your device’s subscription settings: Apple — Settings ▸ your name ▸ Subscriptions; Google Play — Play Store ▸ profile ▸ Payments & subscriptions. You keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
I bought Premium but the app doesn't show it.
First, make sure you’re signed in with the same account you purchased on, then use Restore purchases on the paywall or profile screen. If it still doesn’t appear after a minute, email us at lumkastories@gmail.com with your store receipt and we’ll sort it out.
How do refunds work?
Purchases are processed by Apple and Google, so refunds are handled through them directly. If something went wrong on our end, reach out — we’ll always try to make it right.

Safety & privacy

How do you keep stories safe for children?
Every story is generated and safety-filtered, never scraped from the open web. We filter what goes in before a story is written, and filter the result before it ever reaches your child — in each supported language.
What data do you collect about my child?
As little as possible: a first name (or nickname), a birth year rather than a full date of birth, interests, and a reading level. We never store photos of your child, and avatars are built from cosmetic choices you pick. Read the full Privacy Policy.
Do you show ads or track my child?
No. There are no ads, no behavioral advertising, and no cross-app tracking. We never sell your family’s data.
How do I export or delete our data?
You’re always in control. Delete an individual story, a child profile, or your entire account from within the app. To request a full export or deletion, email lumkastories@gmail.com.
Is there a parental gate?
Yes. Sensitive actions — purchases, account settings, and links that leave the app — sit behind a parental gate so the app stays firmly in a grown-up’s hands.
